Bible Stories: Moses and the Burning Bush
One day Moses was leading his flock of sheep when he saw a strange site. He looked and saw a bush that was on fire but the bush was not being consumed by the fire. “Take off your shoes,” said a voice from the burning bush. “You are on holy ground.” “Who is speaking?” asked Moses.
“I am the God of Abraham,” the voice answered. “I want you to go to Pharaoh and tell him to let the Children of Israel go free.” “I can’t do that,” said Moses. “Pharaoh won’t listen to me.” “You can do it with My help,” said God. “You will use your shepherd’s staff to show Pharaoh that I sent you. Throw your staff on the ground.
Moses followed God’s instructions. When he threw down the staff it turned into a snake. When he picked it up, it became a staff again. Moses knew that God would be with him and help him. So he went to Egypt to ask Pharaoh to let his people go.
