Sunday School Lesson: Spiritual Food
When a baby is hungry, there is only one way he can let people know about it. He cries! If he is crying because he is hungry, will he be satisfied with something else? Perhaps a rattle or favourite toy. Will this make him happy? No, he wants his bottle, and he will cry until he gets it. Then he will be happy. This is physical hunger.
A boy or girl may be often cross and naughty, though they have plenty of food for their bodies, good clothes to wear, and parents who love them. They need spiritual food to satisfy their hearts. Will they find it in books or games? No. Where will they find spiritual food that will satisfy their hearts and make them happy? Only in God’s Word, for only there will they learn of Jesus who can make them truly happy and save them from their sins. Jesus said, “ He that comes to Me shall never be hungry, and he that believes in Me shall never be thirsty. So feed on God’s Word every day.
